The demo runs on virtual credits—no card details, no sign-up, nothing to download. You click, it loads, you play. For additional demo versions of other Pirots games, check our dedicated demo page.

This isn't a simplified version. Same grid expansion mechanics, same bird collection system, same bonus triggers. The RNG behaves identically whether you're playing demo or staking real money. CollectR built this on their Kiter platform with the same 2025 build that powers the real-money version.

You can test everything: fill the collection meter, trigger the red button meteor strike, see how the 6×6 grid expands to 8×8, chase the bonus game with free drops. The only thing that won't happen is a payout hitting your account.

No time limits on the session. If you want to run 500 spins to see how often three bonus symbols land, do it. The demo balance resets if you run out.

UK players don't need an account to launch it. The demo sits on the same page as the real game—you're choosing between two identical engines, one with stakes and one without.

Most grid slots have symbols drop and disappear—PIROTS 2 has four prehistoric birds that actually walk around the playing field, collecting gems like they're picking berries. Each bird hunts its own colour, moving square by square across a 6x6 grid that can explode out to 8x8 if you're brave enough to press the big red button marked "DON'T PRESS". This is ELK Studios' second Pirots instalment from late 2023, the one that proved the concept worked well enough to spawn four more sequels. If you're new to the series, you might want to start with our guide to the original Pirots to understand the core mechanics. Where the original introduced the roaming collectors, this iteration layers on a seven-stage symbol upgrade system, a collection meter that unlocks feature releases, and enough special symbols—eggs that scare birds into new positions, popcorn that fills empty spaces, mushrooms that transform clusters—that you'll need the unusually detailed rules section to track what each does.

How To Play

Before your first spin, you'll want to set your stake. Click the BET display in the bottom right corner—this opens a grid showing twelve bet options ranging from €0.20 to €100.00. The currently selected bet glows bright blue. Pick your amount and the window closes automatically.

Starting Spins

The large circular button on the right side is your main spin control—can't miss it, it's the biggest button on screen. Click it to start a game round. If you're comfortable with keyboard play, press S instead. Each spin costs your selected bet amount (the game counts this as 100 coins internally, but you'll see your actual currency).

Autoplay Options

Pirots 2 gives you two ways to activate autoplay. The cleaner method: click the AUTO button (circular icon with a refresh arrow) in the upper right. You'll get a modal offering 10, 25, 50, or 100 automatic spins—select your preference and it starts immediately.

The alternative: hold down the main spin button. Keep it pressed for about a second and the same autoplay menu appears. This shortcut's mentioned at the bottom of the bet selection screen, so the game expects you to use it.

To stop autoplay mid-sequence, click the AUTO button again or simply hit the spin button.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The game includes proper hotkeys, which speed things up considerably:

  • S Spin
  • A Toggle autoplay
  • B Open bet selection
  • M Main menu
  • R Rules
  • P Paytable

Standard navigation (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape) works throughout menus and modals.

The Red Button

You'll spot a large red button labeled "DON'T PRESS" above the game grid. Despite the warning, it's entirely clickable when active. This triggers a special meteor strike feature—the game tells you when you can use it based on the current symbol situation. It's not a constant control; think of it as a context-sensitive action button.

Interface Navigation

The hamburger menu (three lines) in the top left opens settings, rules, and game information. Your balance shows bottom left as "DEMO PLAY €5,000.00" in practice mode. The currency indicator "EUR" sits in the top right system bar—you can change display preferences (currency or coins) through the settings menu.

The collection progress bar between the CollectR logo and treasure chest tracks your symbol gathering, but that's passive feedback rather than something you control directly.

Everything's designed for quick access—the essential controls (bet, spin, auto) are always visible, never buried in submenus.

Bonuses & Symbols

How Symbols Pay

PIROTS 2 doesn't use traditional paylines or cluster pays. Instead, four collecting birds move across a 6×6 grid (expandable to 8×8), gathering symbols as they go. Wins happen when a bird collects orthogonally adjacent paying symbols—amber gems matching the bird's colour, wild symbols, and coins.

Symbol Values

The game features four birds, each paired with amber symbols of matching colour. Both birds and ambers exist across seven payout levels, with Level 7 being the maximum. Higher levels pay more—and look brighter.

Level Red (Bird/Amber) Purple (Bird/Amber) Green (Bird/Amber) Blue (Bird/Amber)
7 10.00 4.00 3.00 2.00
6 2.00 1.00 0.75 0.50
5 0.60 0.32 0.24 0.16
4 0.20 0.12 0.09 0.06
3 0.12 0.08 0.06 0.04
2 0.05 0.04 0.03 0.02
1 0.02 0.02 0.01 0.01

Values shown are per 100-coin bet. Level 7 symbols show a bird character with a crown. Levels 6 and below show coloured gems—level 6 gems have crowns, while levels 1-5 are progressively dimmer spheres without crowns.

Feature Symbols

The grid contains several special symbols beyond the paying ambers. Birds collect these to trigger various effects.

Wild symbol - Golden three-dimensional W

Wild (Golden W)

A three-dimensional gold letter W that substitutes for any amber symbol at its current payout level. Only collected by birds, doesn't land as a standard drop.

Coin symbols showing various multiplier values

Coin Symbols

Gold coins displaying values of 5×, 10×, 25×, 50×, 100×, 500×, 1000×, or MAX WIN. When collected by a bird, the coin pays its value multiplied by your current bet. The MAX WIN coin immediately pays whatever's needed to reach the £1,000,000 maximum win (at maximum bet).

BONUS symbol - Yellow dinosaur skull with BONUS text

BONUS Symbol

A yellow dinosaur skull with the word "BONUS" in bold red letters. Collect three of these in one game round to trigger the free drops bonus.

Upgrade symbol - Stone arrow with fiery glow

Upgrade Symbol

A stone arrow pointing upward with a fiery glow at its base. When collected, it upgrades all amber symbols of the collecting bird's colour by 1-3 levels (maximum level 7).

Upgrade All symbol - Prismatic rainbow arrow

Upgrade All Symbol

A multicolour prismatic arrow with rainbow glow. Upgrades all four amber colours simultaneously by 1-3 levels.

Egg with visible cracks

Egg

A beige-white egg with visible cracks. When collected, it hatches a dinosaur at the end of the round, scaring the birds away and forcing them to redrop in new positions.

Popcorn in red and white striped container

Popcorn

A red-and-white striped container with "POP" written on it, overflowing with yellow kernels. Fills empty grid spaces with popcorn when collected, allowing birds to cross gaps once each to reach additional symbols.

Transform symbol - Red mushroom with white spots

Transform Symbol (Mushroom)

A red mushroom cap with white spots on a beige stem—the classic toadstool appearance. When collected, it transforms a cluster of nearby amber symbols into the collecting bird's colour. Individual ambers in that cluster may instead transform into feature symbols.

Red button with DON'T PRESS text

Red Button

A large glossy red button with a silver metal rim and the words "DON'T PRESS" in white letters. When collected, it triggers a meteor strike that clears symbols (except features), removes the birds, causes a refill, and expands the grid by one row and one column (maximum 8×8).

Collection Meter

Collection meter - horizontal progress bar with yellow-orange fill

Above the grid sits a horizontal progress bar with yellow-orange fill. This meter tracks collected amber and wild symbols. When it fills completely, you receive one pending feature symbol release. Up to three releases can stack simultaneously.

Feature releases convert three amber symbols in the grid into random feature symbols. These releases trigger just before an egg hatches, before the meteor strikes, at the start of the first free drop in the bonus game, or when birds can't collect any more symbols.

Bird Movement

The four birds move in descending order based on their amber symbols' current payout level—higher-paying colours move first. Birds collect symbols by moving horizontally or vertically to adjacent positions. If collectable symbols remain accessible, birds continue moving and collecting until they can't reach any more.

When two birds are next to each other horizontally or vertically and can't collect more symbols, they may perform a "Switcheroo"—swapping places if it unlocks new symbol clusters.

If three or more birds end up in a line (horizontal or vertical), they start a fight. A cloud travels across a random area of the grid, automatically collecting bonus symbols, coins, eggs, and red buttons while removing ambers. Birds then redrop in new positions after the fight ends.

Free Drops Bonus

Free Drops Bonus trigger - BONUS symbol

Collecting three BONUS symbols during normal play triggers five free drops. The bonus game starts with your current grid size (6×6, 7×7, or 8×8), your collection meter progress, all amber payout levels, and any pending feature releases intact. Everything persists from the base game.

During free drops, the collection system works identically to normal play. Collect three more BONUS symbols within the feature to retrigger another five drops. Grid expansions and amber upgrades gained during the bonus remain active.

Maximum win across all modes is £1,000,000 at the maximum £100 bet level. The series continued with Pirots 3, which introduced additional mechanics building on this foundation.

Mechanical Depth Over Simplicity

Pros

  • Birds actively collect symbols fundamentally different from watching passive reels spin
  • Grid expands from 6×6 to 8×8 mid-session playing field dynamically changes as you trigger the red button
  • Symbol upgrades persist into bonus rounds your level 7 ambers stay upgraded, progress compounds
  • Progress bar and grid size carry through UK players get persistent features that reward understanding the system
  • Auto-spin fully available no UK regulatory restrictions on convenience features
  • Visual design works for colourblind players birds distinguished by accessories (crown, hat, scepter) not just colour

Cons

  • Eight different feature types steep learning curve before you grasp how eggs, popcorn, transforms, and meteors interact
  • Bird movement rules opaque "descending payout order" means you can't predict which bird moves when
  • Overlapping systems create confusion switcheroo, bird fights, meteor strikes, egg hatches each have different trigger conditions
  • Documentation needed 19 rule screens even the developers required extensive explanation of their own mechanics
  • Demo mode becomes essential you'll burn through balance learning what "transform symbol next to bird" actually means
