How Symbols Pay
PIROTS 2 doesn't use traditional paylines or cluster pays. Instead, four collecting birds move across a 6×6 grid (expandable to 8×8), gathering symbols as they go. Wins happen when a bird collects orthogonally adjacent paying symbols—amber gems matching the bird's colour, wild symbols, and coins.
Symbol Values
The game features four birds, each paired with amber symbols of matching colour. Both birds and ambers exist across seven payout levels, with Level 7 being the maximum. Higher levels pay more—and look brighter.

Values shown are per 100-coin bet. Level 7 symbols show a bird character with a crown. Levels 6 and below show coloured gems—level 6 gems have crowns, while levels 1-5 are progressively dimmer spheres without crowns.
Visual Identification
Red Symbols
A fierce red bird with white beard and gold crown at maximum level. Paired with red-orange gems that glow brightest at level 7.
Purple Symbols
A round purple bird wearing a crown and holding a scepter at maximum level. Paired with magenta-purple gems.
Green Symbols
A yellow-green bird with leopard-like black spots at maximum level. Paired with emerald green gems.
Blue Symbols
A fluffy light blue bird wearing a brown winter hat at maximum level. Paired with sky blue gems.
Feature Symbols
The grid contains several special symbols beyond the paying ambers. Birds collect these to trigger various effects.
Wild (Golden W)
A three-dimensional gold letter W that substitutes for any amber symbol at its current payout level. Only collected by birds, doesn't land as a standard drop.
Coin Symbols
Gold coins displaying values of 5×, 10×, 25×, 50×, 100×, 500×, 1000×, or MAX WIN. When collected by a bird, the coin pays its value multiplied by your current bet. The MAX WIN coin immediately pays whatever's needed to reach the £1,000,000 maximum win (at maximum bet).
BONUS Symbol
A yellow dinosaur skull with the word "BONUS" in bold red letters. Collect three of these in one game round to trigger the free drops bonus.
Upgrade Symbol
A stone arrow pointing upward with a fiery glow at its base. When collected, it upgrades all amber symbols of the collecting bird's colour by 1-3 levels (maximum level 7).
Upgrade All Symbol
A multicolour prismatic arrow with rainbow glow. Upgrades all four amber colours simultaneously by 1-3 levels.
Egg
A beige-white egg with visible cracks. When collected, it hatches a dinosaur at the end of the round, scaring the birds away and forcing them to redrop in new positions.
Popcorn
A red-and-white striped container with "POP" written on it, overflowing with yellow kernels. Fills empty grid spaces with popcorn when collected, allowing birds to cross gaps once each to reach additional symbols.
Transform Symbol (Mushroom)
A red mushroom cap with white spots on a beige stem—the classic toadstool appearance. When collected, it transforms a cluster of nearby amber symbols into the collecting bird's colour. Individual ambers in that cluster may instead transform into feature symbols.
Red Button
A large glossy red button with a silver metal rim and the words "DON'T PRESS" in white letters. When collected, it triggers a meteor strike that clears symbols (except features), removes the birds, causes a refill, and expands the grid by one row and one column (maximum 8×8).
Collection Meter
Above the grid sits a horizontal progress bar with yellow-orange fill. This meter tracks collected amber and wild symbols. When it fills completely, you receive one pending feature symbol release. Up to three releases can stack simultaneously.
Feature releases convert three amber symbols in the grid into random feature symbols. These releases trigger just before an egg hatches, before the meteor strikes, at the start of the first free drop in the bonus game, or when birds can't collect any more symbols.
Bird Movement
The four birds move in descending order based on their amber symbols' current payout level—higher-paying colours move first. Birds collect symbols by moving horizontally or vertically to adjacent positions. If collectable symbols remain accessible, birds continue moving and collecting until they can't reach any more.
When two birds are next to each other horizontally or vertically and can't collect more symbols, they may perform a "Switcheroo"—swapping places if it unlocks new symbol clusters.
If three or more birds end up in a line (horizontal or vertical), they start a fight. A cloud travels across a random area of the grid, automatically collecting bonus symbols, coins, eggs, and red buttons while removing ambers. Birds then redrop in new positions after the fight ends.
Free Drops Bonus
Collecting three BONUS symbols during normal play triggers five free drops. The bonus game starts with your current grid size (6×6, 7×7, or 8×8), your collection meter progress, all amber payout levels, and any pending feature releases intact. Everything persists from the base game.
During free drops, the collection system works identically to normal play. Collect three more BONUS symbols within the feature to retrigger another five drops. Grid expansions and amber upgrades gained during the bonus remain active.
Maximum win across all modes is £1,000,000 at the maximum £100 bet level. The series continued with Pirots 3, which introduced additional mechanics building on this foundation.
